We are happy to premiere ‘Tailpipes,’ the new single by pop-punk indie-rockers winterforever. It's the band’s debut release for Heading East Records and the first new music since their 2021 full-length, 'LAEVITAS'.
Travelling from their hometown Boise to Philadelphia to record with producer Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday, Say Anything), the group comes out swinging. 'Tailpipes' starts fast with guitars reminiscent of Wonder Years or The Get Up Kids but the listener will notice the lyrics are anything but upbeat.
"I wrote the lyrics on tour in 2022," says singer Corey Hugo. "I had just been prescribed a new antidepressant and was feeling even more paranoid than usual. We couldn't afford the new tires we desperately needed but I remember leaving Boise thinking "What could possibly go wrong?" If I had known how poetic trying to pull a trailer up San Francisco hills with bald tires, while trying not to throw up was gonna be, I probably would have laughed."
'Tailpipes' is the first single from an upcoming EP expected later this year and winterforever will be on tour in the Southeast/Eastern US from September 23 through October 5.
