Last year, Arizona mainstays Authority Zero hit a major milestone in their career. After all, not a lot of bands get to celebrate their 30th anniversary. But instead of looking back and celebrating past achievements, Authority Zero is still very much looking forward by releasing an EP with six new songs.

Written over the course of a week before refining the songs with producer Cameron Webb, who also took the helm on “Ollie Ollie Oxen Free” and 2013’s “The Tipping Point”, these songs are a representation of what Authority Zero sounds like right now. While the dub/reggae of ‘Ways To Wage A War’ and the ska-speckled title track don’t exactly hit the spot for me, the band’s mix of punk and melodic hardcore is still very much in effect on songs like ‘Lights Out!’ and ‘Long Ways To Go’.

Disregarding the two duds on here, it is nice to see Authority Zero still firing on all… well, most cylinders.

  2. Lights Out
  3. Ways To Wage A War

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
