Finland’s Unkind is a brutal band that manages to lift crustcore to a whole new level on “Pelon Juuret”. Take everything you love about the genre (the pissed off vocals, d-beat drumming,…) and inject the songs with some more atmospheric riffage, then stand back and prepare to be blown away.

Nevermind that you don’t have a clue what these guys are raging against (the vocals are in Finnish), these guys unleash a wall of sound that hits you like a sledgehammer to the face. But they will just as well slow things down and make room for doomy parts that only helps make things sound more bleak.

It’s highly effective and with just seven songs, Unkind make sure not to wear out their welcome.

Lacking the talent to actually play in a band, Tom decided he would write about bands instead. Turns out his writing skills are mediocre at best as well.
